The Darcos law of 30 December 2021 imposes the following on all players in the online book sales market :
- €3 delivery cost for all orders of new books under €35
- For orders over €35, the minimum shipping cost will be €0.01
These shipping costs apply even if other products are added to the cart and apply to all online orders, whether delivered to your home or to a delivery point.
This rule applies throughout mainland France and concerns all customers in France.
Let's take a look at how you can implement these 2 rules of the Darcos law in your Prestashop store using the Advanced Shipping Cost Plus module.
- In your Prestashop back office, click on the Shipping menu and then on Advanced Shipping cost
- Click on Add new rule button on top right
- Enter a name for your rule : Shipping Cost for Books under €35
- In the Conditions tab, select the Maximum amount condition, then enter : 35
Select Selected products from the drop down list - In the Conditions tab, select the Products condition, then choose categories
(or products, features) corresponding to Books - In the Actions tab, choose Amount, then enter : 3
- Then click on Save
Perfect! We've defined the first rule, now we just need to add the second rule of the Darcos Law.
- Click on Add new rule button on top right
- Enter a name for your rule : Shipping Cost for Books over €35
- In the Conditions tab, select the Minimum amount condition, then enter : 35
Select Selected products from the drop down list - In the Conditions tab, select the Products condition, then choose categories
(or products, features) corresponding to Books - In the Actions tab, choose Amount, then enter : 0.01
- Finally, click on Save
